    This is definitely a big deal to me.

    I assume this is the Steam version of the game? Did you ALT+F4 out of the game or kill the task by any chance?

    Without more info I will assume there was likely an issue auto-saving due to some kind of file access issue. I will see if I can reproduce it and fix it. If you have any repeatable steps let me know.

    Hi again!

    I am not being notified about new posts – will have to figure that out. Sorry for the delay.

    In the latest update saved game data is now exported to “GeometryDefenseSave.dat” which is located in “%USERPROFILE%\AppData\LocalLow\Zebec Games\Geometry Defense” on Windows. Since some time has passed you probably do not care about copying it over as you are likely to lose more than you would gain.

    Since on mobile the game utilized a single save file that is the current operation on PC as well. I will be adding a more robust save system in a future update.

    I am glad to hear you are interested in becoming a tester but I am not looking for more closed testers at this time. If you are already playing the game you are already helping. Please share any feedback or bugs here.

    General

    New Campaign Tiles! Each Planet has its own tileset now to make them feel more unique. The tileset for Endless mode has been enhanced as well!

    • Many bug fixes with the Sapper as well as a new tower targeting animation.
    • Fixed bug with Frost Tower not returning to its original color.
    • Fixed some UI scaling issues on wider devices.
    • Added an option to disable Death particles from enemies.
    • Fixed an issue with panning on certain devices.
    • Various stability improvements from engine updates.
    • Added new Social menu to the Main screen – please follow me and share my posts! It helps more than you know. 🙂

    Balance

    Abilities: Reduced the damage of the Storm ability.
    Enemies: Increased the range of spawn time between enemies (especially weaker Air units).

    Balance is an ongoing issues. Please feel free to join the discussion on Reddit (r/GeometryDefense).

     

    Performance

    • Swapped Bloom method again due to issues on some GPUs.
    • Fixes to some pooling issues that resulted in a memory leak of sorts.
    • Tweaks to the object pooling script to reduce memory usage.

     

    Known Issues

    • Abilities can become broken when trying to use them.
    • Spawn indicator not hidden when the game is paused.
    • Various issues can arise if the device contains and old save from Alpha or Beta. You will need to wipe app data for it to work.

     

    Road Map (Rough Plan)

    • 1.6.x balance changes – fixes and tweaks.
    • 1.7 Campaign Re-work. New layouts. New abilities. Remaining planets.
    • 1.8 Challenge modes.
    • 1.9 Map editor.
    • Features without a known slot – enemy picker. Endless mode enhancements. Tower targeting improvements. Performance improvements.

    • Fixed bug where Sapper would damage the player core when targeting towers.
    • Added new enemy: Armored Pawn – appears later in game with more armor and value than a regular pawn.
    • Several crash fixes.
    • Added clearer shop buttons.
    • Several UI fixes – incorrect star totals, missing icons, and tweaks to new enemy overlay.
    • Fixed bug that did not allow consumables to be repurchased (gems).

     

    Balance

    • Added Armored Pawn.

     

    Performance

    • Fixed bug in tower targeting that resulted in more calculations than necessary – mainly improves performance by reducing spikes and consequences of those spikes.
    • Minor improvement to scaled sprite generation.
    • Performance and stability fixes around string localization.

    • Game logic can stop if enemies make it outside the playable area.
    • Target selection does not appear until tower is re-selected.

    • Fixed several bugs with Sapper targeting – could be more.
    • Fixed a bug with Sapper pathing.
    • Fixed a bug where the Sword couldn’t damage attached Sappers.
    • Many French translation improvements – more to come. Thank you Azertizer Yt for providing the fixes!

     

    Balance

    • Reduction in # of enemies as waves increase.
    • Reduction in enemy health as waves increase – more so for Pawns, Fast, Sapper, and Frost Boss.
    • Reduced the Frost Boss range, health, armor, and health growth.
    • Reduced the health, armor, health, and health growth of the Sapper.
    • Increased the spawn cost of the Sapper (less likely to spawn and less enemies when it does).

     

    Performance

    • Many changes to improved turret/enemy targeting performance.
    • Added missing pooling for Flak Explosion and Credit Collision effects.
    • Improved the performance of map preview generation.
    • Improved performance of AoE abilities.
    • Other tweaks.

     

    Known Issues

    • Sapper may still have some AI issues.

    • Added ability to show enemy path.

    • Bug fixes:
    • -Fixed bug that occurs when non-default targeting type is selected on a tower and it is upgraded. Previously was only visually showing the correct target type.
    • -Fixed bug that allowed infinite use of the Sword ability.
    • -Fixed bug that caused enemies to not generate research bounties.

     

    Balance

    • Fixed enemy “cost” in Campaign mode (makes it easier).
    • Reduced build/upgrade cost of the Gunner, Rocket, and Lightning towers.
    • Reduced mana cost of the Sword from 50 -> 40 mana.

     

    Performance

    • Had to revert previous performance fix due to instabilities.
    • Android now builds native code which improves overall performance.
